Or should I say evening blindness. It seems to start sometime around 7:00 every evening.
Although I know in my head I have nine million things to do I can't see them. Pretty soon the not seeing turns into now knowing.
When I wake up it's a miracle. I can see again! I can see the laundry and the dishes and the clutter. You get the idea.
Today J17 and I are driving to the beach to meet the rest of the family (who left last night). Last night I was once again struck with this strange blindness. Even though I knew I had laundry and packing and dishes to do this morning I still managed to convince myself that I could get it all done quickly in the morning. Easy peasy. No problem. Thirty minutes tops. What? Who is this Slow Panic night person? She really is very slow.
I assumed the annoying three dogs we own would wake me up at 5:00. Their customary time. No. I don't dare tell Husband this but these three dorks that can't seem to sleep past 5:00 every other day of their live slept till 7:00 this morning. It was glorious. Again, do not tell Husband.
The dogs did spend a good 30 minutes during the night barking at full volume and running in and out of the dog door. Normally I might tell them they are stupid but when Husband is gone I let them go all out. The two big dogs are pit bull mixes and sound like they belong in an insane asylum.
They actually do belong in an insane asylum.
Which is probably why they are living here.
Anyways, the young neighbors had one of their brouhahas in the street and the dogs went crazy. We also had a murder and/or home invasion and/or gang related horror about three blocks from our house early last evening which included the homicide and morgue to show up.
So when the dogs went crazy at 2:00 a.m. I just snuggled deeper under the blankets and let them go at it.
Oh, and the chihuahua? He snuggled in with me. I think I heard him say "you got this guys. you got this."
So to sum it up. Night Blindness. Slept in. Need to pack. Need to get all four pets to the kennel. Doing laundry. Etc.
Then road tripping for six hours with J17. Which will be great. He doesn't know it yet but we are kindred spirits. We like spending time together. There will most likely be a very long conversation about The Walking Dead. There will be long bouts of silence which we both enjoy. I have a great audio book. He has stuff. I get to road trip my new car for the first time.
All in all a good day.
